关于未来汽车关键技术的研究

演讲人介绍:

Lutz Eckstein教授曾在斯图加特大学机械工程系学习并获得汽车工程硕士学位。2001年,在戴姆勒公司对未来汽车控制概念进行广泛的研究之后,他在斯图加特大学获得博士学位。1998-2004年间,他在戴姆勒克莱斯勒公司汽车动力和主动安全领域担任各种职位。2005年,他加盟德国宝马公司,负责人宝马、迷你(MINI)和劳斯莱斯品牌机界面(HMI)和工效学方面的工作。

自2010始,Eckstein教授担任德国亚琛工业大学汽车工程研究院院长以及亚琛汽车研究公司咨询委员会主席职位。目前,他在德国亚琛工业大学教授几门汽车工程的相关课程并在曼谷泰德研究院担任客座教授。

科研成果:

Eckstein教授在汽车行业积累了15年的工作经验,他对众多先进驾驶辅助系统的设计和评估做出了巨大贡献,这从50多部国际和国际专利和出版物中找到佐证。

演讲摘要:

汽车行业面临自其诞生以来最为严峻的挑战:个人需求、排放和安全方面的要求不断提升,与此同时气候不断发生变化和化石燃料正在不断减少。关于汽车替代驱动系统以及储存电能的研究是两个最为重要的研究领域,这是显而易见的。安全问题是没有选择余地的,所以,关于安全开发、生产、运行和回收电动汽车的研究至少具有同等重要性。加之降低汽车重量的必要性,轻量设计和创新型汽车概念成为两个关键的研究领域,其对交通性约束和各市场要求的依赖程度非常高。因此,对市场特定的交通需求和要求开展研究是未来汽车设计的重要依据。

在对这些研究领域作了简述之后,对当前研究项目的关键成果以及未来研究需求进行了阐述。特别关注由Schavan和Wan Gang教授在今年秋天发起的关于电动交通的中德大学合作项目。

Speaker Introduction:

Professor Dr.-Ing. Lutz Eckstein has studied in the faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Stuttgart University, completing with the Diploma degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in Automotive Engineering. In 2000 he received his PhD (Dr.-Ing.) at Stuttgart University after carrying out extensive Research at Daimler on future vehicle control concepts. From 1998 to 2004 Lutz Eckstein held various positions in the field of Vehicle Dynamics and Active Safety at the DaimlerChrysler AG. In 2005 he was hired by BMW AG and became responsible for HMI and Ergonomics of the brands BMW, MINI and Rolls- Royce.

Since 2010 Professor Eckstein is Director of the Institute of Automotive Engineering (ika) at RWTH Aachen University and President of the advisory board of the Automotive Research Corporation Aachen (fka). He is giving several courses on automotive engineering at RWTH Aachen University and serves as guest-lecturer at the Thai-German Graduate School in Bangkok.

Achievements in Scientific Research:

Looking back on fifteen years of experience in the automotive industry Professor Eckstein has significantly contributed to the? design and evaluation of numerous Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, which is documented by more than 50 national and international patents and publications.

The redesign of the Human Machine Interaction for all BMW models starting with the 7-series in 2008, which he carried out with his team of engineers, designers and psychologists at BMW, is recognized as the benchmark of intuitive and efficient HMI.At ika and fka Professor Eckstein is focussing the work of more than 100 highly qualified researches primarily on four major research fields: Future Vehicle Concepts, Lightweight Design, Alternative Propulsion Systems and Intelligent Advanced Driver Assistance and Chassis Systems.

Abstract of Speech:

The Automotive Industry faces the largest challenges since the invention of the automobile: the demand for individual mobility and the requirements for emissions and safety keep rising while climate change is progressing and fossil fuels are ebbing.Clearly, research on alternative vehicle propulsion systems and on storage of electric energy represents two of the most important fields of research. Since safety is not an option, research on the safe development, production, operation and recycling of electrically driven vehicles is at least of the same importance. Combined with the necessity to reduce the vehicle weight, lightweight design and innovative vehicle concepts form two crucial fields of research, which very much depend on mobility constraints and requirements in respective markets. Therefore research on market specific mobility needs and requirements forms an important basis for the design of future vehicles.

After a brief description of these research fields, key findings of current research projects as well as future research needs are presented. Special attention is paid to the Sino-German university cooperation on E-Mobility, which was initiated by Prof. Schavan and Prof. Wan Gang in Summer this year.
